We have learnt that a good car can be easily turned into a scrap but you can never turn a scrap into a good car: no matter how much money you are willing to spend. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHEAP CAR. You always get what you pay for. If you pay less you get less of a car often with the speedometer turned back. Always make sure that the speedometer reading is commensurate with the condition of the car that you are buying.

In Japan many huge scrapyards remove engines and gearboxes from scrap cars for export whilst crushing the rest of the car. These vehicles can be bought cheaply before the engines are removed and can be restored. Beware of these cars because they are in the scrapyard for a reason. They have been rejected by the auction houses which are the main source of used vehicles in Japan. Anyone can clear a few hundred cars and offer them at 1 price to the public. We do not buy these ' 1 price cars.'
